So we are at the end of summer as the clocks change this weekend, bringing in the dark evenings and the cold starts to make itself felt.
Its been a busy few months making the most of the last dry weekends, The Suzuki has definitely been very popular at events, in September I was able to get it out on the track with Suzuki GB track event at Cadwell Park. In fact that day was really great for me because the sister bike to my Suzuki XR41 was there with its new owner, having been sold recently, and so both bikes No 1 & No 2 were out on track together, probably the last time that happened was the 83 transatlantic challenge at Donington.
Another bit of news was I have finally found the 4th XR41 which we thought was lost forever. And I am helping the owner get it back into original spec etc etc.
The Smith Honda CR1 made an appearance at Dave Silvers 40th anniversary, great to chat to everyone the stand was busy from start to finish and we displayed the bike with all the silverware rob won with it etc. Plus your reaction to my Impromptu Fire up certainly gave me the encouragement I needed to keep doing stuff next year. I even made it into classic bike magazine.
October saw an unexpected invite to make some noise at the Rob Walker Historic Festival in dorking. Very humbled to be the only bike (Ducati Bevel) burning up the high street behind a selection of Rob Walkers old race cars, including a Surtees dfv powered F1 car.
The Suzuki was delivered back to me yesterday after a holiday with Bennets Insurance, who borrowed it for some promotional work, So its now tucked up for winter and next year will be stripped for its its original engine to be fitted. Next year its the Bimota and the new chassis for the CR which will be getting out and about at some events.
